The Mississippi Bar awared its Legal Services Lawyer of the Year Award to Attorney Catherine V. "Ginny" Kilgore of Oxford, Mississippi.  Ms. Kilgore (Ginny) is the director of the Elder Law Project/ Admin. Law Unit of North Mississippi Rural Legal Services (NMRLS).  She is responsible for the overall planning, supervision and delivery of legal services to the disabled and elderly population of the NMRLS 39-county service area in north Mississippi.
        The award was to be presented to Ms. Kilgore at the Mississippi Bar's annual meeting in Destin, Florida on July 15, 2000.  However Ms. Kilgore was unable to attend.  NMRLS Executive Director Ben Thomas Cole II (pictured below) accepted the award on her behalf and presented it to her at August 12, 2000 NMRLS Board of Director's Meeting in Grenada, MS.
