NMRLS Executive Director Ben Thomas Cole II started the program off with the Welcome.

Catherine V. "Ginny" Kilgore, NMRLS' Elder Law Project Director coordinated the program.

State Representative Jay Eads presented part of the Legislative Update on new laws affecting the Elderly.

A diverse audience sat engrossed by the information imparted to them.

State Senator Gray Tollison presented the remainder of the Mississippi Legislative Update

Donna J. Hodges, Special Assistant Attorney General/Medicaid Fraud Control Unit discussed THE VULNERABLE ADULTS ACT IN MISSISSIPPI

As always, the conference attracted a broad cross-section of the elderly as well as advocates for the elderly

Barry K. Jones of Wise, Carter, Child, and Caraway, P.A. addressed Advance Health Care Directives and Powers of Attorney

William H. Mounger, Special Assistant Attorney General/Medicaid presentation was a MEDICAID UPDATE: ESTATE RECOVERY, TRANSFER OF ASSETS, & OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

Lunch for the conference was served on the first floor of the University of Mississippi Law Center in the Law School Mall.

The Luncheon Speaker was introduced by Cleveland Joseph, the Director of The Three Rivers Area Agency on Aging

The Luncheon Speaker was, Ms. Rica Lewis Payton, Executive Director, Mississippi Division of Medicaid

Richard A Courtney, CELA, began the afternoon session with a presentation on MEDICAID ISSUES FROM A CLIENT’S PERSPECTIVE

Catherine V. Kilgore closed out the conference with a presentation on ETHICAL ISSUES IN ELDER LAW
